If I purchase an extended warranty while I still have manufacturer warranty arent' I buying double coverage?
No. Your extended warranty coverage will being when the manufacturer coverage ends, however, by purchasing it early you get to lock in a lower price now. In addition, the extended warranties are less expensive on newer vehicles.
My manufacturer warranty goes to 100,000 on the engine and transmission, am I eligible for anything else?
Yes. You are most likely eligible for a warranty wrap. A wrap simply means that the manufacturer will continue to warranty the items they cover and your new extended warranty will cover the additional components you wish to have covered. This is normally a large cost savings since you don't need to purchase coverage for the items already covered by the manufacturer.
Don't I have to purchase my warranty at the time I purchase my car?
No. As mentioned above, you can purchase the warranty anytime, as long as you sitll have basic manufacturer warranty coverage. It is best to purchase it earlier rather than later to avoid cost increases.
